Hello Forum, I have a question.
Around 18 years ago, I was very active on this website, playing chess using engine assistance. However, I also had other accounts where I played without any external help.

At that time, whenever a player was using engine assistance, an exclamation mark (!) would appear next to their username, making it clear to others.

Lately, I’ve noticed that many players seem to be using assistance, but there is no longer an exclamation mark displayed next to their names. I would like to know if this is now considered acceptable and in line with the current rules of the platform.

If so, I kindly request that the exclamation mark be removed from my profile as well. I would appreciate a response from the FlyOrDie staff.

Thank you and best regards!
Using a program isn’t against the rules, hiding it is.

Declaration has always been the difference. If you use assistance and don’t declare it, the system marks your play accordingly. That exclamation mark wasn’t punishment, it was transparency and it still applies where relevant.

The absence of visible marks doesn’t mean the policy changed. Detection evolved. Quiet doesn’t mean inactive.

As for your profile, past undeclared use doesn’t get erased on request. You chose the shadows. The system remembers.

Hello, and thank you for your response.

I never said that I don’t use a program — what I meant to clarify is that when I started playing on this account, I wasn’t using any assistance. However, I noticed that some players were using programs, yet did not have any visible mark next to their names.

Now, my question is very simple: I use a program and I have the mark next to my name, while others use a program and don’t have any mark indicating that.

In my opinion, this is not fair and not in line with the rules. Transparency should apply equally to everyone.

The system applies marks based on behaviour patterns, not declarations alone.

If others are using programs without marks, it's not because the rules changed, but because detection isn't always instant or visible. That’s by design. Transparency doesn’t require public symbols to function, only accurate tracking.

You have the mark because your usage was confirmed. Others? If they're hiding it, the system will catch up.
Eventually, the mask slips. It always does.

The rules are applied. Just not always in the way you expect.
