his personal life has absolutely nothing to do with his football career,and he is probably the best central defender in the world. Capello is just stupid.
no what he does in his private life shouldnt effect him being captain of england,they goin on about him not being a good role model but neither is amy winehouse..the 2 ppl i feel sorry 4 is wayne bridges and toni terry
1st of all id like 2 say that im a Chelsea FC fan, and John Terry is 1 of the best players Chelsea and England have, he's also a great Captain for both teams. I cant see how JT having an affair effects the team at all, it's the wrong decision, there was no need to sack him. I couldn't see Capello being sacked as manager for having an affair, so why has JT been sacked?:| My Comments have nothing to do with me being a Chelsea fan, just thought id add that. :) Scooter.
The reason he was sacked as England captain but not Chelsea is because Wayne Bridge is still part of the England setup, a lot of the England camp will side with Bridge over this whole thing and the last thing you boys need in the build-up to the World Cup is a split dressing room. Having said that though I can see Capello leaving Bridge out of the World Cup squad because of this, the victim is always the one to lose out. Also Capello obviously wanted the focus on his squad to shift back to the football, not an affair, hence why he replaced Terry. Then again Rio Ferdinand isn't exactly a role model either, thinks shopping is more important than drug tests, but who in the England team is?
personally, i dont see what all the fuss is about.. everybody knows that if the left back leaves a hole open, its the center backs job to fill it

Im a Chelsea fan so might be biased, but his personal life has nothing to do with his career. Ok... so he might be a bad role model to young kids who look up to the England Captain, so why give the armband to someone who failed a drugs test and is currently banned for elbowing soneone??
i actually wonder why its Ferdinand who's gonna be a captain - Lampard/Gerrard/Beckham seem better candidates to me
Lampard would feel uncomfortable taking the armband from Terry i would imagine, Gerrards been shocking in an England shirt i think we should give it to our BEST player... ROONEY
BIG PROBLEM if we let rooney as captain im worried that the team will depend on his skill to much to get us the winners all the time rooney would not be a very good captain ever just his name doesnt even suit it
strikers wont make good captains midfielders or defenders will see the whole teams performance on the pitch 1966 was a great year for us but hey sorry if i am a traiter to england but we will never win the world cup unless we can beat teams like spain italy and brasil until then we r quarter finals or semis stage when we reach that stage say goodnit england for another 4 years
