Yep not a bad list of things that would be useful to add.

Although nearly all of them have been suggested for ages so whether they will ever be introduced is yet to be seen.

And I still have an iffy view about the "having 2 minutes to re-connect" as it is subject to major abuse.

For eg. Player keeps disconnecting himself and reconnecting to delay the game for their own advantage and to make the opponent leave (Yes could be solved with a limit on amount of re-connects per game). However I still wouldn't like to keep waiting 2 minutes  to see if a person comes back (otherwise you could end up penalized for leaving before the other person comes back)... just my view though ;)

100% agreed, but been suggested so many times before and I don't think it would happen on FOD, even though it's implemented on other game sites. However, a while ago someone (maybe OP himself) said they were thinking about the possibility of having this.

Yeah the current tournament set-up makes it far too easy for players to cheat, a straight knock-out system would curb this out.

Been suggested before, I've suggested this in the past too. It's a good idea but it looks like FOD will stick with their new method for the forseeable future.

Definately Baz, I would applaud any system that deals with disconnections as long as it's done properly. Aesthetic things like the look of the game window can be introduced pretty quick but solving the disconnection issue with a new system should not be rushed and needs to be tested ;) before hand (That's if they plan to introduce such a thing... )

To be honest the aesthetics (good word Chris:p) of the game are fine, I'm not bothered about what the bloody table looks like or what's in the background, but it's the gameplay that matters and it's the gameplay that the vast majority of players look for first in any game. For now the gameplay is still probably the best on the net, but without some updating - hopefully soon - this game may soon become too dated for some...

i agree gameplay is the most important thing on a game, i think the gameplays great, additional things like graphics, sound, backgrounds could be added in the near future to keep the game fresh, but all round i think there already fine;)

but an update in the game of any kind, new d/c ruling, the graphics maybe wouldnt go a miss

Yea the gameplay is still awesome tho ive tryed a few other snooker games in the past ive always been faithful to Flyordie, now i think its about time they did something back and introduced some new stuff to the billiards part of this site...lots of good suggestions there but will they listen? i dont think so :p when was last time we had an update?

Yes this is a good idea. However, the computer cannot know whether the user is making a geniune attempt to play the ball. Therefore the miss rule cannot be used properly. It's contraversial enough in real snooker!

I have a major issue with this idea. How is FlyOrDie suppose to know if it was a deliberate DC or not? Do you have to replay the whole game? Bit unfair if one user was miles ahead! A user has to wait 2 minutes to see if the other user returns? What if he goes and plays another game? What if <b>he</b> DC's?
In my opinion, the time and effort would be better spent simply improving the server.

Indeed, this would intice the hardcore players. However, not everyone plays to a high standard and this might only appeal to a minority of players. Have you checked out leagues? They're pretty fun. :)

Another interesting idea. I have often found myself slightly dissappointed as I wanted to watch a match but there were 5 spectators already watching. I have no idea of the ins and outs of the system but I always assumed this was limited to 5 to keep the game running smoothly?

Hmm, not sure about this myself. Snooker Lite is pretty quick anyway! And while I agree with you about a Snooker Lite Unrated room (myself being a regular Lite player), I do not see this happening as you rarely see over 50 players playing Lite at one time.

Good suggestions Ring, well put, however I doubt any of these will be put into effect as it seems no one of any significance ever seems to take note of the suggestions put down in the forum. Why theres a requests/suggestions forum is beyond me.

Yea but how many rooms do you see with not a soul in daily Jamez ? and theres rarely people in Pro Snook unrated but i go in with a mate every so often to jus knock a few around, Lite would be good for that im sure you'd get more people in Lite unrated than in 8ball room 7 or 9ball room 3 ! :p

There has been quite a few updates recently, most of which are completely unnoticable for most of you, and their sole importance is to help moderation efforts to filter out the idiots of the games. Without the need of such enhancements, we would be much more advanced with the development of the games themsleves. But unforunately this is not the case.

When the games are updated we will of course consider your valuable suggestions (as always ;)).

We are already planning a system that will have some improvements with this issue hopefully...

Not entirely true with the FOD advertising farce that happened a few months ago, but let's not bring that back up... :p

Personally I feel a little dissapointed about this as certain people ruin this game for others

 by abusing them in chat/lobby etc. and now we learn that they are ruining our gaming experience too by stopping updates occuring while FOD focuses on trying to stop the rule breakers instead?

These people will always be on this site, it is not possible to stop them fully, and not introducing new updates for the majority because the minority cannot control themselves gives me the opinion that it's going to be a very long time until we get any kind of update in the future. It's the type of thing that occurs in school "Everyone has to be quiet for 30 minutes because big Jimmy in the corner keeps talking"...

What I wanted to say, is that there are some small updates which are being made frequently, but probably you will not even notice them. The moderation enhancement is just an example. If we didn't make these improvements, the games would probably be unenjoyable by now, even if you say that  there are still enough idiots here.

Op! i find your post insulting, i aint had a ban/demerit for 2 years other than 3 week ago when i got a demerit for calling a guy a cheat in Pro Snook when he quite clearly is a cheat, hence the reset/bans hes now received for watever reason (probably coz of playin his mates).

I dont do anything now i used to, id rather just play than talk to be honest and if you feel you disagree why dont you post my last 3 bans up here and we'll see eh ?

OP to this surgestion, there is a way to kinda stop a pro foul (wont stop them 100% but will stop a few pro fouls), which would be easy to introduce. This would be to add a Free ball feature.

The majority of people who ask for improvements are the very high ranked players which surprisingly are the ones who make new nick names up and are the ones getting mostly demerited or banned. Some of these kids think its their god given right to win every game, and if they lose they have a tantrum, higher rated players also think their above moderation. The people and players on this site with the lower names are mostly the ones who enjoy this site as a fun game site. I have to agree with the OPERATOR that improving moderating this site and making it safer for all the players. The moderators already do a fantastic job. 

2 improvements i would like to see is making it harder for people to make new nicknames..... as there are a few on this site who make 1 or more names on a daily basis, and a mute button that mutes not just 1 nickname... but all the nick names so fools yo have beaten fairly cant constantly harrass you in other names,..... this provocation usually leads to a reaction which gets the harrassed innocent party demerited or banned for a few days, which isnt fair. 

Not all high rated players are like this, just like to clear that up before i get lynched by everyone. Its only a small number of ppl that do this.
