Hello Everyone.

As one of the longest members at FlyorDiechess (26 may 2002)
I decided to make a widely supported suggestion to FlyorDie to implement ELO-Ratings.

All what's needed is a nice RatingConvertFomula.

According to the current formula:

This ratingsystem has a drawback:

- Players who only play much lower rated players will see 
  their ratings rise (although slowly) for indefinitely. 

Despite this drawback I created my own ELO-ConvertFormula:

ELO-Rating =  flyordierating + (flyordierating/3) + 1250

If you think this formula would give correct results, 
please reply with a Yes-Vote.

If you don't think the formula is correct, please comment what you would like to see changed...

If I get enough Yes-Votes, I will give the suggestion to the FlyorDie mods, to change the ratings!

hmmm, maybe this formula is a bit oversimplified.  Also, the elos turn out a bit too low don't you think?  a person who has a FOD rating of 500 will get an elo of only 1917.  Surely he has an elo rating of at least 2100

haven't given it too much thought, but looking at my own (variable) standard of play, I would equate FOD-350 to around 1800 ELO, FOD-200 to around 1500 ELO. 

If the relationship is scalar (how is ELO calculated?)

this gives an approximation of ELO = (FOD x 2)+ 1100.

If this is accurate to within 5 percent, there are some very famous people on board this site.

But why change a perfectly good rating system suited to the medium.

i think they shoul;d change the rating system but i don't think my rating is 1650 i thinks its lower even though my rating on flyordie is 300 i disagree but i want to change the rating system like the ones on yahoo those are accaurate look there
