Today I came on FlyOrDie to play some decent games of 9 ball, but what a surprise this never happened. As I am fairly knew I still had a ~ rating so most people wont even play me any ways. People over the 200 rank won't because they won't gain alot of points(fair enough). Then people you do play don't even play properly, just try and smack any ball into the 9 ball, oooo thats really fun. I played about 8 players and only managed to get a bo3 out of 1 of them. The people who run were people who just smack the 9 ball and get a flukey win and RUN!!!...again whats the point in that. So I was just wondering whether someone could come on here and tell me why people just smack the 9 and/or run all the time... especially the people who actually do this... i probably couldn't name a list because it would take about 50 pages of this forum... 'great game'... By the way, don't say the reason is for rating points because if you were good you wouldn't have to play like this.

Unfortunatly the nature of 9ball means that even with a fluked 9, you still get points, so for poorer players its easier to do this, and since points seem to mean everything for some people they then run. Its much better to learn how to play in a game like snooker (lite for small tables) or 8ball, then if you really like 9ball, come back when you can play well and you should reach the top players who are less likely to do this.
