Okay, i can see you two are having a little feud about him stealing/hiding from you. So here are my thoughts... #1: It may be wrong,but lets face it,what thief would stand around waiting for the person they stole from to get their stuff back? #2: If he doesnt want to come out now,go away for awhile and soon enough he'll have to come out.No thief can steal from someone out of their own house. #3: Is the item/weapon really that good? Or do you just want to sell it for money? If you want to sell it,just get it from a monster. If you need the item/weapon for one of your characters weapons, then go buy another and equip it before someone can steal it. Or you could just do #2;). #4: Skull,instead of hiding in your house, why not just run away from them and see if they can catch you.That would be a lot more sportsman-like.If they can't catch you after about 20-30 clicks,then you have the right to keep the items/weapons. what is the purpose of stealing unless you are a superb fighter too? if you are not permitted to act like a thief then being one is very unprofitable as well as being slow-leveling.

: i understand that logging off immediately after theft is very bad and i do not like when ppl do that but i believe that running away is fine, if the player wants to waste clicks by running away a lot, please do not bash them about this, its just part of being a thief.

: i completely agree, as i said, i dont like when thieves hide in stores to sell my junk but when thieves simply run away to see if they can outrun you for a bit, that is fine.

when the theif runs, it hurts him too! (waste clicks) there is no point to being a thief unless you can fight really well!

When this topic inevitably re-emerges every month or two I can't help but wonder why they just don't remove the stealing feature from the game. If the unofficial rules make it impossible to get away with stealing, why would anyone want to waste clicks learning how to do it well? I just don't get it. Either it's part of the game or it's not. skull, Im not really sure what you mean by your grammar, but I think it has something to do with "I wouldn't keep this up if it was braves" No matter who, as long as they're not like 10 levels higher, I most always seek revenge. And to answer Jb, Its just the principle of the theft. I was in the same room as skull when it happened, and asked him to come out several times. :D So the only thing I can think of is waiting outside his house forever like a crocodile.
I'd have to agree with Sandy. I mean what if Sgt. Slim had stolen from you? (He does from me quite often) Would you still whine and complain? of course not! you would have the option of trying to beat him up and after you got creamed you would walk away. But once someone smaller than you steals you think that you are "entitled" to beat him up! Well, he also is "entitled" to hide. If you can catch him go ahead. If you want to stake out his place and infiltrate his computer with a virus that tells you whenever he logs onto Larkinor, go ahead. If you want to make his life miserable by doing all sorts of things to his character just to teach him a lesson and warn others, go ahead. Just don't bother us with whining on the forum. you should be able to take care of yourself. Bel'al
*ahem* Malikar, I believe I said in my last post, I always chase somebody, unless, or course, they are like 10 levels higher. Slim definately falls under that category. As for whining? Nah. Just telling everyone that skull steals from higher-level players, hides purposely, and doesn't expect to have controversy, or get the tar beat outta him later. From JB: Stealing a running is ok, but hiding is not! :D
P.S. as for suggesting somebody giving another player a virus...well, I cant think of anything to say about that. Except that would be bannable (if thats a word :( )
If you notice my post was only 5 minutes after yours and as it was long we probably started writing about the same time. That's why I didn't see (sry). Otherwise ok cool. :) Skull is just like dozens of other thiefs that hide when they steal from a bigger player. No Big Deal! whenever I see them I just hassel them as much as possible to make up for it. They are a legitimate class in Larkinor. So they're fine by me. If I could I would be one of them (I'm a non sub) Bel'al

As most know I have a high level thief and I can only offer you my guidelines in this if you are a thief. Steal then run then cash in then go back and take your licks to steal some more. On the rare occasions I get a rare it always goes in market at 50%. If stolen from 95% of the time I will hunt you down and kill you if I can. Otherwise 1 way flight home for me. I will agree with several in the stating that runing is fine but hiding is not. Furthermore and lastly as most of my friends will agree if I steal from a friend I usally give friend a chance to get item back. My friends will also say that I steal from them both greater in levels and weaker in levels I simply click icons so friendship has nothing to do with this. It is part of the game. As to removing stealing ok I am fine with that as long as robbing goes to and all the exp that is in the chars with robbing and stealing be immediatly added to the char in ? I myself would like suddenly gaining multi levels but since this is not a viable solution I guess the game should continue like it is. Keep crying. You DO realize this was finished with over a day ago, and that running is fine, but hiding, especially when in the same chat room, everyone frowns upon. Anybody would be upset with skull (no offense) :P I really dont where this came from, but its rediculous.

i know this issue is kinda over a few days ago, but i just got back onto the internet after over a week. i know this may sound contraversial, but i'm going to disagree with a bunch of people that have posted. people say running is fine but hiding isn't. i think hiding is "okay", and i'm not even a theif. now, rules of ediquite say you shouldn't hide, because if you're going to steal from someone, you better expect them to come take revenge. it's common sense. but if you're going to hide, expect them to post about it (one or two posts is fine... 20 is way too many), and expect people to be less happy with you and more willing to beat you up next time you sign in. just my thoughts... yes, i would prefer thiefs didn't hide, but if they're going to, they better not think it's over. --jason
