time table
i thought i would announce to the larkinor community my personal time table before i can sail off to the second island. i need to earn another 2,000,000 silvers and complete one more king's mission. this should take about 3 more weeks. then i will join into the battle to win the island i thought others might want to use this thread to give their time tables so that all can get an idea of future combatants. rexyin8
I need about three million more. This should take about 4 weeks. But I will be gone for the next 3 weeks so it will take about 7 weeks. Maybe even 8 weeks because I am also trying to free my terrible character. By then my lvl 27 (almost 28) character will be 30 or 31 so I will be just barely fit to fight in TA.

I need approx 6.5 mil and 6 xp levels before i can join in the fighting. by my calculations ill be your christmas present :) but any earlier ill count as a bonus. Would also like to do some more kings missions along the way so any time from oct to dec. Make sure theres some left for me ok?
I need about 4 mill. This will take me about mabye 3 days. But then i have to transfer it.
Well i will be there as soon as i lvl my fighter and as soon
as i lvl the magic on my mage.....my fighter will definatly
be there in 2 days and it maybe 3 for my mage

Cant wait!!!!

Perhaps this note will make me very unpopular, but, I'll take a deep breath and suffer the plunge:

I keep on hearing the term, 'fairness'. A difficult concept, I know, but should I be concerned about the recent 'extension' to Larkinor?

That is...

How many players are currently engaged in the war on the 2nd island?

Does all the extra exp. points, extra attributes, etc, gained from this new extension simply widen the gap between players that signed up 3,4,5 yrs ago to recent, fee paying, customers? Or is it just a pat on the back for years of loyalty? (Naturally, of course, there should be a gap, but is it fair to widen it?)

Noddy (and, no, I'm not a commy!)

PS... sorry if my ignorance offends the great demi-Gods of Larkinor (Veriac, Rebanne, Spidey, etc)

it looks as if at this time there are 2-3k monsters a day being cleared from the first square. At the time of this posting there remains approx. 26k still to be cleared off. I have put all of my characters to the task, and have one at silver, one at brass and two with merit. With any luck, one more week should clear the first square. Lets all keep up the good work.
    Sec.
Noddy,

There will come a time (currently estimated to be at least 18 months in the future) when a newcomer to the game will be too late to gain the merits or credits from clearing monsters off Thord-Artin. Presumably, it will also be too late at that point to gain any construction points from rebuilding the island, and possibly even too late to gain monstology ranks by repopulating the island with Larkinor monsters. This is inevitable with all events. I'm sure many of the current diggers would have loved to have been in on the diamond shovel construction event, but you win some and you lose some.

From my understanding (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong), until the last square of Thord-Artin invaders has been cleared, you will still be able to reap of all the benefits of the island as a late arrival. There is no (known) bonus to being the first character to step foot on the first cleared space of the island. In fact, once the first space is cleared, we will merely continue clearing squares until we have cleared enough to start building. I have no idea how many this will be, but from sailing around the outside, Thord-Artin appears to have 83 spaces. I presume buildings will exist on about half of the spaces, similar to the island of Larkinor.

> Does all the extra exp. points, extra attributes,

No one is getting any extra attributes. It's debatable if anyone is getting any extra experience points. My records show it's a very thin margin for my character (depending on how many times I die and have to boat myself all the way back). Although others have different opinions. The truth of the matter is, once they took the Larkinor monsters off this island, the conquest rate dropped by about 75%. This tells me it's not all that wonderful over here.

Also, I can't help but noticing that my character is ranked #125 of the experience level toplist, but is #4 on the conquest toplist. In other words, it appears as though a lot of upper level characters aren't bothering to spend much time on Thord-Artin just yet.

The good news for you, and anyone else already in the game, is there is PLENTY of time left to get to the island and start helping out. It only takes a smart subscriber about 6 weeks worth of clicks (plus the bonus 12000) to get a character to level 30. If you're less conservative with your clicks, you should still get to 30 in close to 10 weeks.

I guess I had a lot to say...

Sandy
ty v much, Sandy,

I guess i'm just far to cuurrappy. I estimate it'll take another 50k clicks to get me 5 mil.

:(

Oh well, maybe Darwinism works in Larkinor too.
I know I haven't spoke in the forum in ages but the formula sandy gave was a little optimistic. to get a level 30 player in six weeks is outstanding. i am a level 29 player and it has taken me about 6 monthes. i haven't been playing as diligently as others but enough to be where i am. even ten weeks is a little overstated. but maybe with enough click management........
The "total clicks" toplist doesn't lie... at least I hope it doesn't. Major Glory is currently at level 30 in under 50,000 clicks. A few others are currently experiencing similar success. 50,000 clicks is about six and a half weeks worth for a subscriber: (50,000 - 12,000) / 815 = 46.6 days.

Sandy
I hear what you are saying Sandy,

But I think you should take into account major glory is the character of a player who has both a lot of experience in the game, and plenty of rich characters to make Glory's life easier. Also Glory is a strength fighter, which has been shown to be the most click efficent char type to lvl with (past the 1st 20 lvls)

If you look at the click sum list a bit more, it seems like you really don't see a mojority of the chars at lvl 30 or higher until a click sum of about 80k. That's closer to 14 weeks of playing.

I think this is a more reasonable estimate for a new player, and even this would assume that the player is trying to be click concious.

Just my 2 cents.

-sash :)
I wouldn't worry about "widening the gap" between old and new characters. Anything that might seem to widen it may really just slow down the rate at which it is shrinking. There are many other factors which benefit newer characters, such as more info early on, the new stealing immunity, the growing number of missions, the balloon being available early on, etc.
