i think the xbox is better, but still waiting for the upcoming Ps3 and Xbox2 to be sure. :D
Xbox; Better processing power Better graphics card and 3D rendering. Built in Hard Drive - No need for rip off flash cards. 4 Controller sockets - much more benificial than it sounds. Better sound card. However, it does take 4 big removal men to take it into your house, I had to have my window removed to fit it into my house. suit.
i prefer ps2 the xbox graphics arent that much better and the pad is big and buttons all over the place...ps2 is nice and simple.

I got a PS2 as it may not be as powerful as the Xbox yet has a better line up of games. It also is far easier to use in my opinion than the Xbox and was cheaper when I bought mine.
and the playstation 3 is gonna be awesome but xbox is coming with the games ps3 was suppose to launch, for example the new Final Fantasy XI is gonna be fro xbox360 and grand theft auto also, and Gran turismo is planning on making a move to xbox

to XboX, Sony will just sell the rights of the game to Microsoft and make a contract clause so that they (Microsoft) can't release the game until after a certain period of the Playstations version being out. T'is all about the money. Same with GTA although I don't know the situation that well with Rockstar. [img=
