I love backgammon.... I'm a mathematician ..... and I'm wondering why the server is rigged? Why not let the server be truly random? My theory is that it makes the game more 'interesting' if 7 doubles in a row appear when you're on the bar... Ok... maybe it's only four.... but we all believe the server is rigged... and, I'm wondering why?
If you want to make your statement credible that the dice are “rigged”, you need to provide clear and obvious proof.  Otherwise, such claims are considered unsubstantiated.

It’s great to see a fellow fan of Backgammon who also brings a mathematical mindset to the table. The feeling that the server is “rigged” is a common one,  especially after a streak of frustrating dice rolls, but it’s important to remember that FlyOrDie uses a tested and certified random number generator (RNG).

The outcomes might feel suspicious during certain sequences (like several doubles or hitting from the bar), but in true randomness, unlikely streaks do happen occasionally. Our brains are wired to detect patterns 
, even where none exist, which can lead to the “gambler’s fallacy” or confirmation bias.

If you’re ever interested, the developers have previously addressed how the RNG works. But rest assured: the dice are not influenced by who’s winning, who’s on the bar, or what move was last made.

Appreciate your curiosity, discussions like this keep the game community sharp.

You say you are a mathematician. But you don't know statistics. No evidence of being rigged on big numbers (~200). On a single match I have the same probabilty of the world champion to win. Keep wondering why.
If you really want to know if the game is rigged here play the real board game and you will see the difference.
There are players here with more than 1000 rating up to 1300 1400. You think that's because they are so smart ? They just know how the system works.
We all believe...means nothing

We know that ideally, players would experience zero disconnects, and that is absolutely our long-term goal.

However, as we've explained in our previous communications, achieving this in a live, real-time gaming environment is incredibly complex and involves many variables. The recent move to HTTPS was a critical security upgrade, and like any significant system change, it can expose underlying network sensitivities unique to various player setups. It's a necessary step towards a more secure future.

More importantly, we are currently undertaking a massive project to transition our entire game site to a completely new technical architecture. This isn't a quick fix or a simple remedy; it's like rebuilding the entire foundation of a house while still living in it. This requires significant time, resources, and continuous effort. Our "official responses" aren't excuses for an inability to fix the problem; they are transparent explanations of the complex, ongoing work designed to fundamentally improve the site's stability and performance for everyone.

We know these issues are persistent for some of you, and we truly appreciate your patience as this comprehensive modernization continues. Rest assured, our team is dedicated to minimizing disruptions and delivering a more robust and reliable platform in due course.
