Frequent “Server broken”
Played only 7 games of Go in last 3 days but encountered 4 times of server broken. Strangely, I was the only side lost scores. If the server problem disrupted a game, all the games should have been stopped. Obviously, this was not the case since the game platform continued. Then what happened? Someone suspected that the opponent player used a spy software to attack another player in order to gain scores. Really? However, the site administrators didn’t agree with this suspension. Then what is the root cause of this? This means something about this site as the game playing is not secure at all.
The administrator implemented https without making sure that the code can get along with. it's s such a pity. I always lose the connection too. They scraw up the game and some people have already left this Plattform for other web sites.
Hi,

Baseless accusations are unhelpful. We encourage constructive, fact-based engagement.

Your accusations that we "implemented HTTPS without making sure the code can get along with it" and "screwed up the game" are unfounded and inaccurate. As repeatedly explained on this forum, implementing secure HTTPS for real-time gaming is complex and depends heavily on factors like your network stability, browser, and device. Our site's HTTPS is secure and constantly optimized.

Furthermore, and as mentioned here already, we are actively transitioning our game site to an entirely new technical architecture—a massive project designed to enhance overall performance, not cause issues.

If you want us to investigate your specific situation, provide detailed hardware/software info in the mentioned thread.

It’s not accusation at all. The problem continues and the same explanation is given again and again. I just got server disconnection a few minutes ago without any reason. The connection on my side was working perfectly. As mentioned, Yahoo’s old game site had no such issues. I just wondered how they managed to do that with even much older server system and technology. We are trying to feedback our experience and help to make the site working better.
The transition to new updates and enhanced servers is ongoing, but it’s not instant. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a stable global game platform.

All we can do for now is show a bit of patience and try to enjoy the game despite the hiccups. The tech team is working behind the scenes to get things back to full strength.

Every time it showed “ Connection to server broken”. Simply, it maybe a capacity issue. The site does have many games to support. Each one of them must be different and the requirements for its server support must be also different. Thanks for your reply.
Hi bb72,
Actually, that’s not quite accurate. FlyOrDie are currently in the process of updating their entire infrastructure and switching over to HTTPS for improved security. As part of this transition, they're running a series of tests to ensure everything works smoothly across a wide range of devices and browsers.

FlyOrDie are asking users to share detailed information if they’re experiencing problems. You can help by letting them know:
- What browser you're using (e.g. Chrome, Firefox)
- What device you're on (e.g. Windows PC, iPhone)
- Your type of internet connection (e.g. home Wi-Fi, mobile data)
- When the issue occurs (e.g. when starting a game, during chat)

The best way to submit your feedback is via this official forum thread:

   to keep things organised.

Your support and cooperation would be sincerely appreciated.
With best wishes, John

Server Not Broken

Hi,

We've reviewed your Go game history for the last three days. Our records indicate there were 3 disconnections that impacted your games, not 4.

You mentioned concerns about the game platform continuing after a server issue, and suspicions about "spy software" or the site's security.

To be clear:
Our entire game site, including login and game pages, uses HTTPS, ensuring secure data transmission. There is no security issue with the site itself, and your login credentials are protected. User-side programs or "spy software" cannot attack other players or compromise our game servers. Such claims are unfounded.

The "root cause" of disconnections, as you put it, has been discussed extensively. Disconnections in online gaming are complex and often stem from factors like your network stability (internet service provider, Wi-Fi, mobile data) or outdated browsers. While our site uses HTTPS, its implementation for real-time game connections, especially across diverse user setups and older devices, can be sensitive to weak networks.

As shared in updates over the past month, we are also actively transitioning our game site to an entirely new technical architecture. This is a massive, ongoing project that takes significant time and resources, as it involves rebuilding and optimizing core systems to improve overall performance and stability.

For further support, please review the detailed discussions and troubleshooting steps in our forum.

Thanks for the reply and explanation. You deleted my comment I added a day before. In the comment, I mentioned old Yahoo game platform, there was no issue of disconnection at all. That was 20 years ago and used old technology. There must be something different from what is happening here. Any thoughts?
Yes, ... time has been happening. To that time the used technology was not old.
