Hello Odusseus, The points you receive or lose always depend on your opponent's rating. If you win against someone with a higher score than you, you’ll get more points than if you win a lower-rated player. Likewise, if you lose to someone with fewer points, you’ll lose more points than you would against a stronger opponent. For all the details, feel free to check out the FlyOrDie's rating table

Kind regards, John
Scoring can definitely feel a bit mysterious at times, but it actually follows a set system based on your rating, your opponent’s rating, and the type of win or loss (e.g., gammon, backgammon). You can find the official breakdown of the Backgammon scoring system here -

In short: - Beating a higher-rated player earns you more points. - Losing to a lower-rated player will cost you more. - Winning with a gammon or backgammon adds bonus points. Hope that helps clear things up!
