Time is way too much in billiards
I believe 60 seconds in EVERY player's turn are WAY too much.

I respect that "miss your turn 3 times and you automatically lose the game" but time is too much for this game, i mean, it has it's strategy, sure, but it's more about good aim (with the proper power and/or spin) and being lucky, unlike i.e. chess where it's 100% about strategy so 60 seconds are way too many.

Some players (very few thankfully) take advantage of this and shoot in their last 10 seconds and no problem; they didn't miss their turn, nothing illegal, you just wasted 50 seconds of your life waiting for nothing, really. lol And they do it in EVERY turn.

I suppose half of the time is a good change, 30 seconds are more than enough for your turn. Let's say you are in your work and you simultaneously changing tabs in your browser. If you can keep in mind that you are in a LIVE game, you will check out for any changes/moves/player's turn every 10 seconds. So, you will still have 20 good seconds to shoot. It only takes 2-3 to see where every ball is (just a quick estimation of your upcoming strategy) , 3-5 to think of which ball to try to hit, and again 3-5 to shoot (even if you aren't that quick) , so 30 seconds are more than enough for someone's turn. If he/she suddenly disappears, you will only have to wait 1 and a half minute to automatically win the game and return to the main room, not 1+1+1 = 3 long minutes (enough time to play a whole game with the "right" , focused opponent)

Again, this isn't chess, i'm sure it requires skills and some strategy and we must not play like we are in a hurry, but MANY players make you wait forever for their turn and that's because they know they have a whole minute. Some shots are difficult, yeah, so if it normally takes 3-5 seconds to shoot, add 2-3 if it's extra tricky. Still, 30 seconds are more than enough for a player's turn in a pool game, even in real life, only in championships they take all their available time to prepare but that's another level of pool and they also do it to make the opponent feel nervous (like psychological pressure and stuff). If someone really wants to play and he/she isn't just fooling around/procrastinating, average turn is 15-20 seconds, i added +10 more because it could be a bad connection or one player could be busy with something but if he/she is SO busy that he/she can't find time to play, why did he/she even accepted your game invitation (or sent you one) in the first place?

It's a game, yeah, but it spoils the fun out of it if you wait 30-40 seconds EVERY time the other player is just sitting there still.

If you don't know what to do (or aren't sure if you will successfully pocket that ball) , you can always practise or play with easier opponents with lower ranks.

In real life, no game ends well if 1 of the 2 participants doesn't display the same amount of enthusiasm for the entertainment and respect to the other player, why are online games so different?

If you are bored or feel sleepy or busy in work or you can't focus for 4-7 minutes straights for whichever reasons, no need to play at all at that particular time, you can play when you will feel in the mood for it.

So, i suggest to vote so we will change it to 30 seconds.

Or 40, still 20 seconds less waiting for "sleepyheads" lol.
Reading your post took longer than the 60-second shot clock, so I see your point! Jokes aside, you’ve raised a valid issue. The timer does allow too much space for those who stall or lose focus.

A 30 or 40-second option could make matches feel more engaging, especially when both players are ready to play at pace. Maybe in the future we’ll get adjustable timers so opponents can agree on the tempo beforehand.

Appreciate your input, it’s clear you care about the game’s flow and fairness.
