SERVER
The last week at least once a day, in the middle of a game, i get a notice that the server has disconnected and hence a loss. I have monitored all other connections and flyordie is the ONLY site that I experience this on. Are y'all planning fixing your server to be able to stay up with the traffic?

Lately, your server disconnects me repeatedly right when I’m winning and never the opponent!! This at least should be a draw like it is offered; totally unfair and disrespectful to us paying participants!!!!

I read the "answer"..which brought up a couple of questions/thoughts. Why would the site, or those in charge of it, make the changes available to the whole site (i.e. the "players") without testing and debugging the changes first? To blame the problems on "cliches" is to say that you did not do your job properly. But you (those who run this site) don't really care what the general population of the site thinks. Keep censoring...that's what you do best.

Hi,

I’m sorry you’re still getting disconnected mid-game – that’s no fun, and we’re working to sort it out. But I need to address your recent posts, as your tone and assumptions are crossing a line, and it’s not helping us fix the issue.

Let’s talk servers first. As I explained a couple of weeks ago, FlyOrDie switched to https for better security. It’s a complex change, and while we test extensively, some issues only surface when the update hits a wide range of players, devices, and networks. Suggesting we’re tossing out “clichés” or not doing our jobs properly is flat-out wrong and honestly insulting. The team is busting their chops, testing different setups and even weighing a temporary revert to http if needed. This isn’t about negligence – it’s about tackling a tricky technical challenge.

On your claim that we don’t care about players’ opinions: that’s just not true. We track every report, including yours, to guide our fixes. But when you say we’re “censoring” because we removed some of your posts, let’s be clear: those posts were taken down due to their negative and unproductive tone, not because we’re dodging feedback. As moderators, we’re here to keep the forum constructive, not to silence anyone. Throwing around accusations and insults – like implying we’re incompetent – doesn’t move the needle forward. It just makes it harder to focus on solutions.

If you’re only seeing disconnects on FlyOrDie, specifics would help a ton. What browser, device, or patterns are you noticing? That’s the kindny way to contribute to the fix. We’re committed to getting you back to enjoying your games smoothly, but we need constructive input to make that happen.

The * server is still doing it's disconnection at LEAST once a day. And always in a game where I am ahead...Might I suggest that instead of devoting so much time and effort to censoring people, you fix the * server? wow...there's an idea.

I wonder if you'll publish this reply...you didn't publish the last two i sent in on the same topic...

Hi,
Regarding Your Recent Disconnections

We understand your frustration with disconnections, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. However, we must ask that you maintain a respectful and constructive tone when posting in our forums. We've discussed these issues extensively in the past and have a dedicated forum thread specifically for this purpose at
https://www.flyordie.com/forum/253623.
Please post all hardware and software related information there, as this helps us track and manage the issues more effectively.

We've reviewed your last 76 games. Our analysis shows:

4 disconnections were not in your favor. This accounts for approximately 5.26% of your recent games.
7 disconnections were in your favor, meaning they actually provided you with an advantage.
This data suggests that the disconnections are not disproportionately impacting your gameplay negatively.

Understanding HTTPS and Connection Stability
We'd like to reiterate some key points about why these disconnections occur, even as we continue to improve our systems:

Secure but Complex:
HTTPS encrypts connections to make FlyOrDie safer. However, this can lead to disconnections on unstable or weak networks (e.g., mobile data, public Wi-Fi).
Device Limitations:
Older smartphones or outdated browsers might struggle with this new technology, and unfortunately, we don't have direct visibility into these specific device-related issues.
Difficult to Trace Errors:
When you see "Lost Connection," we only receive a general notice, not a detailed error message. These often stem from network problems, outdated browsers, or conflicts with HTTPS encryption (like WebSocket connections). Without details on your device, browser, or network, it's very difficult for us to pinpoint the exact cause.
Our Ongoing Efforts

We are continuously working to improve connection stability:

-We're actively optimizing our servers to make HTTPS connections more robust.
-We're exploring technologies like Cloudflare to reduce latency and improve global connectivity.
-We're building new diagnostic tools to detect and address errors more quickly.
