It took 573 days.  Average clearing speed was 1739 splats/day.

And the last 100k splats took 31 days, for a clearing speed of 3225 splats/day.  Sure picked up the pace at the end.

What I don't like is the looks of this:
An army of monsters is awaiting you towards east.

There is no number.  Did they forget to program something in and it will be an indefinite fight?  Is it a random guess, and just keep fighting (for 500+ days) until all of a sudden they're gone?

My best guess is that this is the centre of recruitment.  And we realistically need to clear all squares around it before much can happen.  Now, luckily it's a corner square.  So to "isolate" it, we just need to clear the 500k to the North now, and then (unfortunately, probably) 1 million to the East of that block (which is North of the unknown block).
