I have been meeting characters with more than 4 characters. I know we could have 6 characters. But why? And why can't we have 6 characters now?

Flyordie chose to cut it down... for server reasons I suppose. As players expanded, stress on servers did as well and they decided to relieve some of it... please correct me if I'm wrong Trouble
Us oldies have 6 characters. I think there are some with 5 too. To be honest I only play with 3 of my 6. Not sure on the reason for cutting down, but I know if I choose to eliminate one of mine I lose it permenently and will only have 5, or 5 if I delete 2 chars. 4 seems to be enough for one login.
